The truth is summer heat increases the impact of the smell. The hotter the
weather, the quicker the “notes” of a fragrance leave the skin. So, it's advised in the summer to use a lighter fragrance, reapplied more often. Whereas winter tones
down the scent; in cold weather the fragrance molecules “lift” more slowly and the
base notes develop more gradually. That’s why you can wear a stronger muskier fragrance in colder weather.
